The Alberta College of Pharmacists (ACP) is responsible for quality pharmacist practice in Alberta, Canada.
ACP's major activities include ensuring that only qualified pharmacists are licensed in the province, and that Alberta pharmacists maintain their knowledge and skills at the highest level possible.
ACP also ensures that pharmacies provide a practice environment for their employees that supports quality practice and the safety of their clients.
ACP's activities are governed by the Health Professions Act. This act outlines the organizational structure of the college--namely Council and its committees--and dictates responsibilities related to licensure, practice review and complaint resolution.
Visitors to ACP's web site will find information about the college, pharmacist registration, pharmacy licensure, and pharmacist practice in our province.
The information on their site is intended as a resource to pharmacists and future pharmacists, and, to a limited extent, to the general public. Public interpretation of health information on their site should not be substituted for the advice of a pharmacist or physician.
For specific health matters, visitors to their site are encouraged to consult their pharmacist or other appropriate health service provider.
